A final round 66 propels Robin Petersson to his first victory on the MoreGolf Mastercard Tour.

Beginning the day with a 1 stroke lead, Petersson got off to a hot start with a birdie at the first and second holes to extend his lead to three shots. With two more birdies at holes 4 and 6 Robin increased his lead to four and was barely challenged for the remainder of the day.

With no one able to get within 3 shots of the lead, Petersson cruised through the back nine, shooting 2 under before claiming a 3-stroke victory at 18 under.  The victory, set up by a stunning 62 in Round 2 that included all 18 greens in regulation.

Despite earning European Tour status and a full Challenge Tour card at Q-School last November, Robin’s scheduled has constantly been reworked throughout the year due to the implications of Covid-19 and allowed him to return to his native Sweden to play a number of events this summer.

 

The victory will no doubt raise his confidence as he heads to the Challenge Tour in Northern Ireland next month followed by European Tour’s Open de Portugal.
